The morning dawned bright and clear, a glorious day, as yet unmarred by explosions, mangled corpses, or science gone wrong. Not that Pierce noticed the daylight. He'd been up all night and was now sitting in the kitchen. There was a webwork of wires crawling along his face and head, contact pads looking like little feet all across his skin while he contemplated...a plate of cookies.

These were ideal cookies. Cookies that defined every kids' dream of chocolate chip; large, soft, tempting. The smell alone would make a weaker man tremble at the knee!

And he hadn't touched them yet because he wanted to make sure all the senses were registering properly and that anticipation readings could be taken as well. Was it any wonder he was a little zoned out?

"Okay." Dilan said, already gone again. The next thing that fell out of his mouth was a collection of tensile equations.

Pierce just laughed and turned him toward the lab doors. He'd...be setting his own alarm for 2:15 just in case. After all, he did worry about the bionic big sister of his system!

At 2.15 Dilan and the pets were gone, and Braig was standing near the kitchen table frowning at a note.

Pierce stumble out of his room, peered around blearily and...pointed dramatically at Braig. "You! Have you seen Dilan? Is he here?!"

"Nope. Any clue what this is about?"

The note said Gone to (chemical notations) with pets back (equations).

[techie_prowess]

"Huh, oh, glue. And vet." Totally! "Good, he's gone." Mumble mumble mumble? "We're worried about Sheeva? And gonna give you a gun."

"Start at the beginning, Pierce." Braig said, in a long-suffering tone.

[techie_prowess]

Bleeeeeary look. He'd had like, two hours sleep! "I was testing cookies. Yeah, cookies. I forgot to net Dilan!" FACEPALM!

"Testing cookies." Braig agreed, "And then...?"

[techie_prowess]

"Annnd then he said it was Wednesday. And the girls had probably made the awesome cookies." Yes, that was how it had gone. "And Sheeva hasn't needed a reset so I asked Dilan if he'd been tweaking her and he hadn't so we need to know if she's adjusting? Makes sense right! Then we couldn't find the lazy dog!" He said it affectionately!

"Okay..." Braig made a keep going gesture, and mumbled, "Maybe we should get cameras set up in the public rooms."

[techie_prowess]

"Oh, I can do that. Easy." Sure! "And then we found Sheeva, she was upstairs, and Dilan made a vet appointment, and I ate cause I forgot to do that, and then we started talking about glue guns? I don't remember whyyyy-oh, yeah, non-lethal restraint!"

"Okay." Braig figured he was up to speed at that point, "Thanks, Pierce. You want to get back to sleep now?"

[techie_prowess]

"Yes!" Thank you Braig you're a SAINT and he needed SLEEP now yes! "Uh...have a cookie?" Yes, bed now!

Braig took a cookie, then chased Pierce to his room to be sure he slept. If Cat was around, he'd dump her in there too.

Sadly Cat was also at the vet! And probably unhappy about it!

The girl came in before Braig had finished the cookies? Stomping and grumbling, Aya tugging Maya toward the sink. "Washing, then we check if it needs stitching!"

"I'm on washcloths, you get antiseptic woman!"

"Woah, what happened?" Braig asked, putting the rest of the cookies in the 'fridge, "What can I do to help?"

Maya lifted her gaze from the sink, a long line of red angling up along her cheekbone. Aya sported an identical cut, oddly enough. "Med class got clones in. They went crazy." The clones were touted as unthinking bodies they could monitor vitals on...sadly, they were a panicked hivemind instead.

They'd moved in closer synchronization than the girls even! "Find some alcohol? We used our swabs doctoring some others and our additional supplies are upstairs.

Sigh. "Okay. Stay there." Braig headed into the bathroom and brought out his own first aid kid, "Here. This should have enough for those cheeks. If you need stitches, I can drive to an off-campus ER."

Yes, they could do that! Aya leaned next to her sister and held still for washclothing! Then returned the painful favor. "We can do field stitches, don't worry." Aya chuckled softly.

"Everyone in the company can do that. It'd be a crappy story for a scar though!" Maya grinned and took the kit from Braig to fish for alcohol swabs.

"There's stuff in there to help minimize scarring." Braig said, "Dilan uses it on the two of us, but it's also rated for humans."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Not best in open wounds," Aya pointed out. "We'll have to let them heal a little before then."

"And...hey, shallow, no bone. Think you'll live with butterfly bandages sister!" Maya applied said bandages after topical cream then turned her own cheek to her sister for care. "Anyway, hi, we haven't caught you recently."

"I know." Braig said, "But you can take the tube. Good to see you, Dilan has the fluffs at the vet."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Are they okay?" Aya asked immediately.

"They seemed fine this morning. We did not feed them chocolate chips." Maya snorted then wiggled her jaw after the last bandage.

"True," Aya allowed with a smile. "How are classes Braig? Any clones today? I'm doing a clone poll!"

"Just a check up." Braig said, shaking his head, "Or at least that's what I got out of Pierce before I sent him to bed. Classes are going fine, mostly I'm just working on my thesis and teaching undergrads. No clones, though."
