The morning dawned bright and clear, a glorious day, as yet unmarred by explosions, mangled corpses, or science gone wrong. Not that Pierce noticed the daylight. He'd been up all night and was now sitting in the kitchen. There was a webwork of wires crawling along his face and head, contact pads looking like little feet all across his skin while he contemplated...a plate of cookies.

These were ideal cookies. Cookies that defined every kids' dream of chocolate chip; large, soft, tempting. The smell alone would make a weaker man tremble at the knee!

And he hadn't touched them yet because he wanted to make sure all the senses were registering properly and that anticipation readings could be taken as well. Was it any wonder he was a little zoned out?

"He probably knows the theory, but he dates you dude. He hasn't been testing any theories, especially lately! How could we guarantee that his book would be accurate?"

"Scientific trial." Dilan said. "Duh."

[techie_prowess]

"Hmmm. Yeah, that is a valid point too, but we might make MORE women angry in the trial period for testing out the book."

[sliceitwithwind]

"We?" Dilan blinked at him, "I have Braig."

[techie_prowess]

"You don't have to date them! You upset women too!" What, Dilan would leave him alone in this?!

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yeah, but I upset them different." Dilan pointed out.

[techie_prowess]

"Proper apologies still have the same foundations for any reason right?" In theory! "And what if you wanted to date a girl maybe? If you and Braig took a break or something?"

Dilan blinked at Pierce and said, "I don't like it when we're not together." softly, "It hurts. Here." he touched his chest, and then his head, "And here. In a tight knot."

[techie_prowess]

"Well, yeah, you're in love and stuff." Pierce pointed out. "But you said Braig needed more girls in his life right? Did you mean in a non-datey way? Cause that's not what the term usually means! And if he's got girlfriends is that okay with you?"

"I like it when he's happy." Dilan said, "If he wanted to have girlfriends, that would be okay as long as he didn't leave me."

[techie_prowess]

"I guess the next big question in the self discovery thing is: Do you want girlfriends? Or would it be Braig's girlfriends sharing Braig?"

Dilan thought about it, "Girls are nice, and pretty, and soft...but I don't know if they could deal with me." It was honest, "I'd like to kiss a girl, someday. She'd have to be really strong, though."

[techie_prowess]

"Strong in what way?" He might be able to help with that! Still, back to the main point..."And if you want that to happen some day you should study Braig's book with me!"

"Mentally." Dilan said, "Emotionally. Ethically. Probably physically, I'm really strong."

[techie_prowess]

"Okay, that last one I can help with if you find the first three! I will totally give you a free girlfriend upgrade!"

[sliceitwithwind]

Dilan just blinked at Pierce. "Um. Okay."

[techie_prowess]

"Hey, you're my friend! If you find a girl you like who;s just lacking some strength I can totally swing some carbon steel bones and maybe some other upgrades so you can be happy!" TOTALLY! It was what friends were for! "I can't help with the other three though. I'm not a psychologist."

"That is such a good thing." Dilan said, "You'd be a terrible psychologist. Almost as bad as I would."

[techie_prowess]

"Well, yeah, I believe the world seriously needs more people who believe they're fungi or something," Pierce snorted. And this, coincidentally, was part of why he couldn't help with the ethical bit too! "And they'd pay me to convince them!"

"I think that's why Braig says you're a bad influence." Dilan said mildly, "That sounds like an ethics thing."

[techie_prowess]

"Eh, he loves me anyway." Pierce shrugged. "And yeah, I guess it is, but see? I'm being good! I'm not in psychology!"

[sliceitwithwind]

"True." Dilan said, frowning, "I think that convincing people they're fungi is on the no list."

[techie_prowess]

"Mine or yours?" This could be an important question! "And I'm pretty sure one of the cults this semester is heading that route anyway...just without our influence!"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Mine. I don't keep track of yours." Dilan said, shaking his head, "Huh. We should keep an eye on them. Fungi-people would be awkward."

[techie_prowess]

"Awkward? Of all the adjectives you pick awkward? Why? I just kind of assume they'll run into an opposing 'fungus on pizza' cult and all the problems will be solved!"
